Emotions As Our Compass To A Fulfilling Life

What do you do with big, undesired emotions? Fear, sadness, irritation, anxiety?

I’ll take a guess since I have some experience being human too. You judge them. You try to stuff them down and hide them away. You look for external validation of them. You let them spill over into other parts of your life, inciting discord. You invite others to join you in the feeling (i.e. misery loves company).

What if we completely reprogrammed ourselves and took time to sit with these big emotions? I invite you to entertain the idea that your big emotions are your compass, they show you where to grow. This is how progress happens, by noticing our discomfort. Not judging or asking others to join in our misery but deeply knowing that these emotions appear for us and will continue to appear until and unless we make the changes in life that align with our soul’s path again.

As you know, making changes in our lives doesn't always come with a clear roadmap. We may not know exactly how we will make these changes, but by acknowledging the need for change and staying open to the opportunities and curiosities that come our way, we can start to align ourselves with our soul's path.

Emotions are energy in motion.  Your emotions are your compass to make life changes that align your soul with its higher purpose. What big emotion are you feeling today? Resist the urge to stuff it or sugarcoat it.  Allow yourself to really feel it. Simply by bringing it to the light of day, thankfully, it loses some of its intensity but not its message.  Use your intuition. Write in your journal. Where does that feeling come from? What needs to shift so that you can be in greater alignment with your Soul’s journey? Let your emotions keep you honest so that your life can be as fulfilling and on purpose as your Soul/Divine/Source intended.
